Ropes & Gray brought on recently elevated private equity partner Garrett Charon from Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York. Charon, who just made partner at Weil this year, followed veteran partner David Blittner who made the move to Ropes & Gray in April.
They are following other six private equity partners out of Weil in 2016.  Michael Weisser and Sarah Stasny left for Kirkland & Ellis’ New York office in May, the same month Eric Schwartzman joined Cooley in Palo Alto. David Kreisler, meanwhile, left for Sidley Austin in April.
Weil has made some private equity hires in recent months as well. Former Greenberg Traurig partner Christopher Machera joined the firm’s New York office earlier this month, while James MacArthur joined from Herbert Smith Freehills in London.
